Almost getting arrest in Jamaica

How I met my wife

I started this page out with a brief one page biography but decided against it for numerous reasons.  In fact I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do with this page.  I think I might have a brief paragraph on what I am up to to date with some links to some journal entries.  Let da people know "wagwaan wit me in da land of wood an wata."

The latest chapter of my life consists of me doing the Peace Corps in Jamaica.  It's an experience I have been longing for for over 2 1/2 years.  You really start to get to know yourself when you are put into an environment where things are dramatically different.  You can actually start to see yourself changing.  I have only been here for 6 months as of this writing and am curious of what changes will come out of me in the next 6.  I hope managing my money will be one of them because I never have any!  The things I am doing in Jamaica vary.  I am teaching a beginner computer course focusing on Microsoft word 97 and am starting an intermediate course here soon  (which means I have to brush up on my word art and column skills).  I teach P.E. to 9th graders where I used to focus on football (soccer).  This will change this term (semester) as I will now be focusing on physical fitness.  My main job is teaching an adult literacy class.  I have a couple of projects that I am contemplating and hope everything pans out.  This summer I plan on either having a summer camp with the kids or moving all over the island and helping out other volunteers.

Of course living in Jamaica cannot be wasted by working all the time.  This concept is not wasted on me where I have used all my resources and basked in the beaches, enjoyed the nightclubs, chatted in the rum bars and acted like a tourist.  If you come and visit you are sure to have a great time but do remember this!  Jamaica is not all white sandy beaches with free ganja floating around and everybody sayin "no problem mon."  This is only a part of Jamaica.  The other part is crime, poverty and poor transportation.

I hope you like my page.  I don't have a t.v. (at least no good channels) so I have been spending most of my time on my laptop, either working on my web page or playing games.
